Pure Blue Foundation (www.purebluefoundation.com) recently held its fundraising event in Bangkok that saw up to 500 models, socialites and businesspeople gather to raise money for the community-focused charity.

Held at fashionable entertainment venue Ku De Ta, the Glamazon-themed event, was sponsored by American Express, and featured a fashion show by ZUZA, Uncensored and Kaprice.
Pure Blue Foundation is the community support programme of pioneering boutique resort group AHMS - The Collection, which operates four 'barefoot luxury' resorts in Thailand and is scheduled to open two others next year in Chiang Mai and Koh Krabey on a private island in Cambodia.'
Founded in 2010, Pure Blue Foundation has raised millions of baht in a series of annual activities over the years to support its community projects around Thailand.
"We are humbled as well as delighted that we received such great support for Pure Blue Foundation," said AHMS Founder and Managing Director Anchalika Kijkanakorn. "It is the first time we have held our annual fundraising event in Bangkok and the support has been overwhelming.

"The valuable contributions made means we can move ahead with our plans to further advance the important community projects we run in Pranburi, Phang Nga and Koh Samui and further extend them to our new locations next year."
At Aleenta Hua Hin-Pranburi, winners of the Best Sustainable Hotel in Thailand this year at the International Hotel Awards, the resort manages a 22 rai community organic farm at which locals can pick and eat for free as long as they spend time replenishing the farm through hours spent replanting.
Its sister property, Aleenta Phuket-Phang Nga works on a nurturing programme of the endangered leatherback turtle species as well as assisting the local school community with conservation education initiatives. It has so far released hundreds of turtles into the Andaman Sea.
In Koh Samui, akyra Chura Samui and AKARYN Samui join forces to build coral reefs to develop underwater environments for marine life to return closer to the shores.
AHMS' commitment to the environment saw it receive a Thailand Government Responsible Tourism Award for the Restoration and Conservation of the Local Environment earlier this year.
